The festival started in 1964, aimed at making visitors to Busselton more welcome, and offer plenty of activities to do during summer.

This locally-born Festival has enjoyed outstanding longevity. The fact that it continues to be embraced with such enthusiasm is a testament to the community’s genuine affection for it. The Festival of Busselton remains as relevant today as it was 50 years ago. Long before the region carried the mantle ‘Events Capital WA’; the Festival was delighting locals and drawing visitors. The success of the Festival of Busselton, especially during the early years, paved the way for the evolution of our now truly brilliant event calendar.

Festival time is synonymous with summer time here in the City of Busselton and the programme is always packed with events & activities.
